Sculptra consist of Poly- L-Lactic Acid, which is a synthetic polymer that has been used in human body since 1960 and as medical suture material from 1970. Sculptra works with your body to stimulate collagen production lost to aging, rebuilding and reinforcing your skin’s structural foundation. Through a series of treatments, typically about three sessions over a few months, it restores the support and volume of youthful looking skin, providing results that can last up to two years.
When injecting Sculptra in the face, we target the entire framework, which includes: the temples, the mid cheek region and the lower face for hollowing, depressions, fine lines and jowling. Sculptra can be evenly distributed in all of these areas or focused injections can be performed in specific target regions. We can also used Sculptra in areas of the body, such as for the "Sculptra Butt Lift".
Sculptra is usually considered ideal for patients who have lost a significant amount of volume in the face, or who have extreme hollowing.
Your injector will begin by consulting with you to determine the primary area of concern and best treatment options before starting your procedure. We’ll review your medical history to ensure you are a candidate for Sculptra. In order to track the progress of the targeted area, we’ll take photos of the area of treatment. You will be numbed with a topical numbing cream, which will take full affect in roughly 10-15 minutes after application. Your expert injector will then clean the treatment area, and begin injecting Sculptra. The procedure takes only a few minutes to complete, and the pain is managed well by most patients. Including your numbing time, the appointment is usually 30-45 minutes long. Multiple appointments are required for Sculptra treatments, and you will need to come in for subsequent sessions 4-6 weeks following the initial procedure.
